New York State Department of Transportation announced that State Route 17C (Main Street) in the Town of Union, Village of Johnson City will be closed between Fifth Street and Riverside Drive on Thursday, May 12th at approximately 9:30 a.m.
The closure is to allow New York State, Broome County and local officials to conduct a flood preparedness training exercise.
The roadway will be reopened at approximately 11:30 a.m. on May 12.
Working cooperatively with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, law enforcement and other involved agencies, NYSDOT will implement this road closure.
Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists.
Department of Transportation personnel will be on site at the closure.
