Surveillance Cameras In Johnson City Up and Running

SHARE NOW

Surveillance cameras located throughout the village of Johnson City are now up and running. The cameras were recently approved by the village board to keep residents safe and reduce crime. These cameras are much more advanced than ones used back in the day. They can rotate 360 degrees, zoom in on certain people or places and then send back images, which are monitored by police 24-7. In just a few months, the cameras have already proven themselves successful. Police said they’ve been able to make arrests using these new set of eyes on the streets. The cameras are the first of their kind to be installed in the village and plans are already in the works to install more. The cameras cost a total of about $50,000 and were funded entirely by the village.
