The Johnson City Police Department made an arrest of a teenage boy earlier this week after he was allegedly found intoxicated and asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle. The boy, whose name has not been released because he is just 17-years-old, was found stopped in a driving lane on Reynolds Road near Harry L. Drive. An officer arrived on the scene to find the vehicle with a flat tire and front-end damage. The car was locked and the officer had to wake the boy by banging on the window. After waking up, police say the boy saw the officer and attempted to pull away, heading north on Reynolds Road, and after initially refusing to pull over, he pulled into a parking lot and hit a marked police car, causing some minor damage. His blood alcohol content was found to be over twice the legal limit, and he is facing charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content exceeding the legal limit, and reckless driving.
