Yesterday we report about a large police presence in Johnson City on Wednesday night. Apparently, a car owner left his vehicle running in a parking lot, while speaking to an acquaintance in another car. He noticed his car moving and tried to get the car thief to stop. He ran in front of the vehicle and was hit as the car headed away. The vehicle, a Lexus SUV, was recovered on Thursday and returned to its owner. The car thief was not captured. The investigation is continuing.
