On Sunday, the New York State Police arrested Zavia Johnson, 42, of Brooklyn.
Johnson was stopped for speeding and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license while on Interstate 81 in the Town of Kirkwood.
During the course of the traffic stop, Johnson was found to be in possession of more then 4 ounces of heroin which has an estimated street value in excess of $150,000.00.
Johnson was arrested for two felony charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Johnson was arraigned before Town of Kirkwood Justice Benjamin Weingartner and remanded to the Broome County jail without bail.
Additional charges may be filed pending further investigation and laboratory analysis.
