Broome County leaders are dealing with a low public turnout for their shared services hearings. They had just one speaker at their meeting in Endicott last night after having only two speakers at their first hearing. However, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar is optimistic, believing that they are seeing a low turnout because they already share so many services throughout the region. The state is requiring each county to develop a shared services plan for 2018 or risk losing state funding. Tioga County will hold their second shared services public hearing at 1pm Tuesday in the County Office Building.
