Two months in, and table games at Tioga Downs have already generated $2.8 million in gambling tax revenue. While 80 percent of that revenue goes to the state, the remaining 20 percent is split among local municipalities. Tioga County and the Town of Nichols receive 5 percent of the gaming tax revenue at Tioga Downs, meaning the two municipalities have each received close to $177,000 over the past two months. The other 10 percent is split among counties in the region, with 5 percent going to Broome County and the rest to Chemung, Schuyler, Tompkins, and Wayne counties. Tioga Downs reported more than $10.7 million in gross gaming revenue to the state in their required monthly filing.
