The Johnson City Police Department has released details on the standoff which occurred late last week at 19 Main Street. 27-year-old Alpha Ketchatcham of Johnson City is accused of holding a female and 2-year-old against their will. Authorities were originally contacted after the female being held against her will texted a neighbor asking her to call the police. Once police were on scene, however, Ketchatcham would not allow them to enter the residence. A SWAT team, as well as a hostage negotiator were called in, and the area between Floral and Lester Avenues were temporarily shut down. The negotiator eventually convinced Ketchatcham to release the female and child. Police then forced entry and arrested Ketchatcham. He was also wanted on active arrest warrants for robbery, harassment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
