The Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one car motor vehicle accident that was reported just before 10 am on Route 81 North, at the Route 26 overpass in the Town of Triangle. Upon arrival deputies determined the driver died from his injuries. The vehicle, a 2013 Kia Soul, exited the left shoulder of the roadway and became airborne. The vehicle then struck the concrete bridge upright and came to rest underneath the bridge. The occupant was 69-year-old Jules Abramovitz of Morristown, New Jersey. An autopsy at Wilson Regional Medical Center yesterday afternoon determined the cause of death to be head trauma. Abramovitz was enroute to Rochester for work. Speed does not appear to be a factor in this accident. The investigation is continuing. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Whitney Point Fire, New York State DOT and the New York State Police.
