NWS Extends Flash Flood Warning to 1:30PM

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Cortland County, Tompkins County, Tioga County, and eastern Bradford County in northeast Pennsylvania until 130 PM EDT.
At 912 am EDT local law enforcement officials reported flash flooding across a large portion of the warned area.
Additional rainfall will be possible this morning which may lead to additional flash flooding concerns.
This remains a very dangerous flooding situation.
* locations in the warning include but are not limited to Monroeton… Towanda… Wyalusing… Wysox… Apalachin… Candor… Cincinnatus… Cortland… Dryden… Groton… Homer… Ithaca… Marathon… Newark Valley… Nichols… Owego… Preble… Trumansburg and Truxton.
Rapid flooding of streams… creeks… urban… and poor drainage areas is likely in and near these locations.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warning area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
Do not attempt to cross swiftly flowing waters or waters of unknown depth by foot or by automobile.
Do not underestimate the power of flood waters. Only a few inches of rapidly flowing water can quickly carry away your vehicle.
