Leave the Light On, One-Man Party Gets Out of Control at Upper Front Street Motel 6

On Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 3:25 am, Brooke County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Dunham responded to the Motel 6 located at 1012 Upper Front St. for a report of a disturbance in one of the rooms there. Upon arrival, guests in the hotel and deputies could hear yelling and other noises coming from room #253. Deputies made contact with 40-year-old Brad Dedrick in room #253. Dedrick appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. Fixtures such as lamps, curtain rods, towel racks, the toilet seat and the television set were all damaged within the room.

Dedrick, of Mohawk Drive in Lisle, was taken into custody and transported to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office for arrest processing on Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree, a felony. He was released on an appearance ticket and directed to appear in Court at a later time. Dedrick was allowed to return to the Motel 6 to retrieve his belongings and was escorted from the property shortly thereafter.
