One person was killed in a fatal accident on Interstate 81 in Kirkwood on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the accident involved three motorcycles on Interstate 81 North near mile marker 1.
Two victims were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes of traffic were reopened by 7:15 p.m.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by New York State Police, NYS Department of Transportation, Kirkwood Fire, Five Mile Point Fire, Great Bend Fire, PA DOT, Broome Ambulance, Superior Ambulance and Union Ambulance.
