A detour will be in place on Front Street in Binghamton next week due to a railroad bridge replacement project.

Crews from Norfolk Southern have already begun removing tracks and railroad ties from the aging overpass near the intersection with Clinton Street.

This will be the third railroad bridge that Norfolk Southern has rehabilitated or replaced in the last three years.

The detour is expected to begin on Monday and last through Sunday, April 27. Regular traffic will be detoured via Prospect and Mygatt Streets, while large trucks and commercial vehicles will use Glenwood Ave. to connect to Prospect Street.
