Relocated NYC Man Gets Weapons Conviction

Mesha M. Taylor was convicted, at a bench trial, Friday, Jan. 18, of criminal weapons possession, unlawful imprisonment and menacing for a May 2018 incident in the City of Binghamton.

 

At trial, prosecutors proved Taylor knowingly possessed a semi-automatic handgun and unlawfully restrained a female in a domestic dispute on Downs Avenue. The handgun was reported stolen from Marengo County, Alabama.

 

Taylor was arrested by Binghamton police on May 18, 2018, and indicted by a Grand Jury on June 27, 2018.

  • 135.05 Unlawful Imprisonment, in the second degree, a Misdemeanor

Taylor had several listed addresses in New York City before relocating to Binghamton. Sentencing is scheduled for March 22.
