State Senator Tom Libous won a political battle to keep his seat and is now looking for a legal victory. The newly re-elected Libous filed to have his federal indictment thrown out. Libous’s lawyers submitted papers claiming federal prosecutors were in the wrong by filing the charge in Westchester instead of Albany County. Libous was indicted for allegedly lying to the FBI in 2010 over whether he used his political connections to get his son a job at a downstate law firm.
