The service arrangements have been announced for the State Trooper who was killed last week on Route 81 northbound. Calling hours for Trooper Christopher Skinner are being held today from 3 to 8 PM at the Community Baptist Church at 743 Chenango Street in Port Dickinson. Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11 o’clock Tuesday morning at First Baptist Church on Reynolds Road in Johnson City.
At this time there are donations being accepted on behalf of Skinner’s family, but New York State Police are warning the public of some potentially fake donation requests. Accounts have reportedly been created requesting donations for the fallen trooper’s family. The Skinner family says that only two funds for donations are currently being endorsed, the first of which is the “Skinner Children Ed Fund” which accepts donations at any Visions Federal Credit Union location, with money benefitting the Skinner children’s education. The second fund is the Signal 30 Fund, which helps families of the New York State Police. Any other fund requests should be considered potentially fraudulent.
