State Police: Help Locate Truck Driver who Hit Trooper’s Car and Fled in Broome County

New York State Police are appealing to the public to help locate the driver of a tractor trailer that sideswiped a trooper’s car Tuesday night in northern Broome County. The trooper was not in the car during a traffic stop and was not injured.

State Police issued this report: “On Tuesday at approximately 6:46 p.m., a trooper was assisting the Broome County Sheriff’s Office with a crash on Interstate 81 northbound near milepost 34.5 in the Town of Lisle.  The marked State Police vehicle was on the right side of the road with all its emergency lights activated when it was sideswiped by a tractor trailer that was traveling north in the right lane. The tractor trailer continued traveling north without stopping. The trooper was not inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.   

There is no description of the tractor trailer, but it would have extensive damage to the passenger side.
