Yesterday’s winter storm did more than dump a few inches of snow on our area, it also knocked down power lines and caused accidents around the Southern Tier. The Broome County Department of Emergency Services says there were 23 different power line issues in the county yesterday and between 20 and 25 motor vehicle accidents. Tioga County emergency responders were also busy with downed power lines and accidents throughout the day. The official storm total was four inches of snow, measured by the National Weather Service at the Greater Binghamton Airport.
