On Monday, officials at Traditions at the Glen announced that they would be interested in partnering with Tioga Downs if the resort in the Town of Union were to be awarded one of the state’s full casino licenses in the fall. On Tuesday, Tioga Downs owner Jeff Gural was quick to shoot down the idea, releasing a statement to the media in which he states, “Tioga Downs is gladly pursuing its own application for a full casino license. The Traditions project should be sharing more details about their application, not running down the clock with stunts designed to confuse the issues and leverage the growing support Tioga Downs has earned.” Gural also added that Tioga Downs is unmatched in its ability to support the license, with real jobs that exist now. If Tioga Downs were to be awarded the full license, Gural says the casino would be up and running within three months. The licenses are expected to be awarded by the state sometime in the fall.
