A trial date has been set for the man charged in the death of New York State Trooper Christopher Skinner. Almond Upton’s trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 10th. Upton is charged with first degree murder. Troopers said Upton was driving on I-81 North in the Town of Chenango on May 29, 2014, when he intentionally swerved from the left lane to hit Skinner as he stood outside his cruiser conducting a traffic stop. Skinner was killed instantly. Upton has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
