Demolition of a Town of Union building took place on Main Street Monday. The building that once was the Don Owens auto dealership at 2309 East Main Street has been vacant for years, and its crumbling structure and damaged roof resulted in its demolition. Demolition cost Union about $38,000, with an additional $4,700 for asbestos removal. The town hopes that clearing the property will open the site for redevelopment, possibly by a tax-paying business.
