The plans for the proposed casino at Traditions at the Glen are undergoing some changes. The latest blueprints for the casino were presented to the Town of Union Planning Board on Tuesday. One of the changes calls for the hotel at the casino to have its own wing instead of being built above the casino on the second floor. Some people who live nearby Traditions voiced their concern at the meeting that the increase in traffic and noise will cause their property values to drop. Another issue the group is facing is a number of archeological sites on their land in which Native American arrowheads and pottery have been found. Traditions has planned to alter their roads to be built around the sites rather than digging up the artifacts. The state is expected to hand out the casino licenses in the fall, and one of the criteria the state considers is public support.
