The Union-Endicott School District is one step closer to winning a $10 million grant to repurpose Linnaeus W. West Elementary School. The school district was notified late last week that they are among the top 50 finalist in the nation-wide grant program.
Union-Endicott applied to the “XQ: Super School Challenge” in October of last year with a proposal to repurpose the now-vacant Linnaeus W. West Elementary into a combined school for special education students, and business incubator.
Only five $10 million grants will be awarded nationwide. The winners are expected to be announced sometime next month.
