On Saturday, the Broome County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles F. Haupt, 32, of Owego, for Robbery in the 1st degree. The robbery was reported to have occurred about 2:45am on Friday at the Speedway gas station, 1015 Union Center-Maine Highway, Town of Union, where cash and cigarettes were taken.
A comprehensive and thorough investigation followed with the culmination of the arrest early Saturday. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office received several tips from the public which aided the investigation. Sheriff David Harder would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.
Haupt was processed for Robbery 1st degree, a class B felony, and dropped off at the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility to be arraigned at the Central Arraignment Part Court on Saturday. He will be held at the Broome County Correctional facility to await further action in Broome County Court.
