The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has released the results of their investigation into a fatal crash on Route 369 in the town of Fenton. Officials believe that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. A Chevy Equinox left the road and hit a stone barn on Sunday morning at about 7AM. The driver has not yet been identified. The driver was alone in the vehicle.
There is also an update on the two-vehicle accident on Hawleyton Road in the Town of Binghamton on Sunday afternoon. The investigation determined a Ford pick-up truck was traveling north on Hawleyton Road, when a Chrysler sedan pulled onto the roadway. The pick-up truck operator struck the driver’s side of the Chrysler. The driver of the pick-up truck sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene. The Chrysler was occupied by four people, who all sustained serious physical injuries and were transported to Wilson Hospital. A rear seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle during the collision. The driver of the Chrysler failed to yield the right of way to the pick-up truck. Hawleyton Road. was closed for 3 hours while the accident was investigated. The victims have not yet been identified.
