Vehicle Stopped for Speeding, Two Men Arrested

On March 2 at approximately 6:42 p.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Jason P. Kelly, age 23 of Endicott, NY, for the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Ignition Interlock Device.  He was also issued tickets for speeding and a license restriction.

 

A trooper observed Kelly speeding on NYS Route 17 in Johnson City and initiated a traffic stop.  An investigation revealed Kelly should not be driving because his license was suspended.  A further investigation revealed Kelly was in possession of a vape pen containing suspected Cannabis Oil.

 

The passenger of the vehicle, Nathan C. Goozovat, no address provided, was arrested at 7:00 p.m. after he was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and vape pens containing suspected liquid cannabis oil.  Goozovat was charged with two counts of the misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, and the violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

 

Both men were processed at State Police Binghamton then transported to Broome County Central Arraignment and Processing.
