17-Year Old Female Dead, 2 Adults in Critical Condition in Vestal Domestic Shooting

FROM VESTAL POLICE DEPARTMENT: Around 9:12 p.m. on Saturday, Vestal police officers were dispatched to 709 Rano Boulevard, Vestal, for reports of multiple people shot inside the residence at that location.

Vestal polive determined an 11 year-old female, who resides at the residence, was upstairs and heard gunshots. She came downstairs to find her mother, sister and father had been shot. Vestal police said the father suffered a self-inflicted wound. The 11 year-old female escaped the residence unharmed and ran to a neighbor’s house to call police.

Police responded and after making entry to the residence found three gunshot victims. The mother and father were removed from the house to waiting ambulances and transported to UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, both with gunshot wounds to their heads. The third victim, a 17 year-old female resident, who also suffered gunshot wounds, was deceased at the scene. The adult victims remain in critical condition.

Names of the suspect and victims are being withheld pending notification of family members. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by members of the Vestal Police Detective Division.

Vestal police were assisted at the scene by METRO SWAT — a joint tactical team of officers from Vestal, Johnson City and Binghamton police departments — Vestal EMS, Broome County Sheriff’s Office and the NYSP Forensic Identification Unit (FIU).
