New York State legislature came together on a budget agreement, and included in the budget is $10 million in funding for a new pharmacy school at Binghamton University. After Governor Andrew Cuomo originally announced back in January that the school would be receiving $10 million, there was some disagreement last week between the state senate and the assembly as to how much funding should be heading to BU. Senator Tom Libous says that the full amount is now included in the budget.

Libous also said that he hopes opportunities will come through research dollars, along with opportunities from the pharmaceutical industry.

The school is scheduled to be open by the Fall of 2017.
