Police say a Johnson City man broke into and stole from a business in Vestal. Vestal Police arrested 18-year-old Jason Canfield Tuesday night after a burglar alarm went off around 6:15 p.m. at Matco Electric on Gates Road. Police say when they spotted Canfield inside, he ran off.
They attempted to keep Canfield inside the building until additional officers arrived, but could not due to the building’s size. Police say items were taken from the business. Canfield was arrested at his Johnson City residence after using evidence at the scene. Canfield is charged with burglary. He was arraigned at Broome County Central Arraignment and sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
