United Health Services in Vestal raised money for breast cancer by putting men in women’s shoes– literally. Saturday was the 4th annual “‘Bras for a Cause” event. It took place at UHS on the Vestal Parkway. Besides the music, food and bra display, a stiletto race was held. Men and women put on high heels and raced across the parking lot. Organizers said the family event is using humor to help raise money to fight breast cancer. UHS wanted all women to know the importance of getting screened for breast cancer, as early detection is the first step in overcoming the disease. Proceeds from the event went to the YWCA’s Encore Plus Program, which helps women get screenings.
