The Vestal Elks handed out a free dictionary yesterday morning to every third-grade student in the school district. The Elks Lodge held fund-raising events throughout the year to pay for the dictionaries. Organizers said it was all for a good cause. The dictionaries were handed out at each of the five elementary schools in the Vestal School District. Yesterday’s giveaway took place at Tioga Hills Elementary in Apalachin. This is the 12th year the Vestal Elks have handed out dictionaries to students.
