The Vestal Police have charged a Mount Upton man with felony Burglary and Grand Larceny charges. 31-year-old Bryan Vasseur, Jr. is alleged to have entered an unoccupied home on Imperial Woods Drive in August and fraudulently represented himself as a real estate agent to prospective tenants of the property. The prospective tenants signed a lease and paid a significant security deposit. Vasseur was not a real estate agent and had no relationship with the owners of the property. An investigation revealed that there were multiple incidents similar to that on Imperial Woods Drive. Vasseur was arraigned in Town of Vestal Court on Tuesday and was returned to the Broome County Jail, where he was incarcerated on a separate charge.
