Work is underway to extend the rail trail system in Vestal.
The popular attraction will be extended an extra half mile, with the new section to span from African to Sycamore Road.
Two pedestrian paths will also be constructed to connect the new section to the current trail and Harold Moore Park. In addition, the intersection of Vestal Road and Sycamore Road will undergo improvements to make it more pedestrian friendly.
Hurd Development is doing the work under a $1.3 million contract awarded in March. Completion is expected later this summer.
