Victim identified in fatal Broome County motorcycle crash

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the victim of the fatal motorcycle accident that took place in the Town of Maine last week.

On Thursday, September 1, at approximately 8:04 p.m., the Broome County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol responded to a report single-motorcycle crash in the area of East Maine Road between Reynolds Road and Oakdale Road in the Town of Maine.

Arriving patrols located the operator lying a significant distance from the motorcycle and immediately began providing life-saving measures. Due to the extent of the injuries, the victim, 37-year-old Jared D. Warner, of Nineveh, was declared deceased at the scene.

The investigation determined that the motorcycle operator was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the motorcycle, leading to the accident.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Maine Emergency Squad, the Maine Volunteer Fire Department and the NYS Department of Transportation.
