A Windsor man has been pronounced dead after he felt through broken ice. 39-year-old Richard McKee was at the Forest Lake Campgrounds on Ostrander Road, preparing to trap on the property this coming weekend, when he walked over a section of ice located above open running water, and the ice broke, sending McKee into the water up to his chest. He was able to escape on his own, but became unresponsive after walking back to his vehicle. From there he was transported to Wilson Hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy has ruled that Mr Mckee died of a heart attack brought on by immersion in cold water.
