A Broome County Sheriff’s Deputy pled guilty to official misconduct on Friday.
33-year-old John Goodwin also pled guilty to public lewdness as part of a deal reached with prosecutors, according to the District Attorney’s office.
Goodwin was charged with two counts of public lewdness in August. He was then placed on administrative leave when investigators charged him with receiving a bribe and computer trespass in a separate investigation.
Goodwin will be on probation for three years and be forced to resign his position as a deputy in the Broome County Sheriff’s Office. He will also have to ask for court consent before applying for any future law enforcement positions.
