The new-look Broome County Legislature held their first meeting of 2011 Wednesday.
Republican Jerry Marinich was sworn in as the new chairman and seven new legislators took their seats for the first time.
Republicans hold a 12 to 7 majority this year.
Marinich says they face tough decisions as the county deals with the current economic climate.
This year’s legislative group will be the last to feature 19 representatives. That number will be trimmed to 15 in 2012. Legislators will draw the new districts this year.
