Corning-Painted Post School District residents have finally approved a plan to consolidate their schools.
A district-wide facilities plan went to voters Thursday for the sixth time in 10 years. This time, it passed, receiving over 60 percent of approval from residents.
The $97.4 million plan calls for the two middle schools and two high schools to each merge. Both the new schools will be renovated starting next summer.
State aid will cover most of the cost.
The district combined its athletic programs this year.
