A 10-year-old girl is recovering after her foot was run over by a car at Eldridge Park in Elmira during an event on Sunday, June 30th.
According to the girl’s family, a park worker was on her cell phone while driving when she ran over their daughter’s foot.
The family claims the driver of the car was told by several people to slow down before the accident occurred — and when she got out of the car, she was still on the phone.
According to WETM-TV, the victim has already had three surgeries and is in Dansville recovering. Her mother has said they are looking at months of recovery.
Eldridge Park officials have said they are conducting an internal investigation and they have not seen a final police report.
