An 84-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash in Steuben County on Wednesday morning.
According to the New York State Police, the accident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on State Route 417 in the Town of Woodhull.
An investigation revealed that a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling northbound from a field and attempted to cross State Route 417 to access a driveway when it was struck by a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica, which was traveling east on 417.
The impact caused both vehicles to become fully engulfed in flames.
The operator of the Dodge Ram, an 84-year-old man from Woodhull, was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.
The driver of the Chrysler, a 46-year-old woman from Woodhull, was able to exit the vehicle and was transported to Guthrie Corning Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
