A Bath man is facing several charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at a group of children near the Bath Central School soccer field on Wednesday.
According to Bath Police, 31-year-old Daryck Rawleigh has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony as well as misdemeanor counts of menacing in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Bath Police responded to the Bath Central School soccer field near Maple Heights and Charles Street for a report of a male who pointed a gun towards children.
Officers went to a home where the incident took place on Charles Street. According to police, Rawleigh showed an AR-15 rifle during a dispute between a group of juveniles and the suspect.
The New York State Police and Steuben County Sheriff’s Office assisted Bath Police during the incident.
