Chemung County Jail inmate charged with promoting prison contraband

The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of an inmate at the Chemung County Jail for promoting prison contraband.

According to police, 33-year-old Chad M. Stanbro was charged with the Class D felony after an investigation and testing from the crime lab found the inmate was in possession of a prohibited substance while incarcerated.

Stanbro remains in the Chemung County Jil and will be arraigned in the City of Elmira Court at a later date.
