Chemung County is now offering residents free vaccinations against measles.
The Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine is recommended for both children who need to finish their two-dose series or adults who may have never been vaccinated.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease that causes a rash and fever, and spreads when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
The shots are available at the Chemung County Health Department, which is located at 103 Washington Street in Elmira.
