A local racing writer and announcer recently won an award as part of the Eastern Motorsport Press Association’s Pocono Raceway Writing Contest.
Horseheads resident and Chemung Speedrome legend Carol Houssock took second place in the Personality Profile category for her story on four people who have climbed the ladder in NASCAR.
The story features Waverly’s Anthony Jilson, Elmira’s CJ Winslow, Arkport’s Jason Burdett and Jason Trinchere of Easton, Pennsylvania.
The article was featured in Speedway Illustrated this past year.
