A Colorado man was arrested after he allegedly shot at a car on Interstate 86 in Big Flats on Monday afternoon.
According to the New York State Police, 40-year-old Jacob R. Heckman of Denver, was driving a Dodge Dakota with Colorado plates when he shot at a Toyota Rav4 during a road rage incident on the eastbound side of 86 near the Elmira Corning Regional Airport just before 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Police said the Toyota’s rear passenger side door had a bullet hole in it after the incident.
Heckman was found with a handgun that he was not legally allowed to possess in New York.
Heckman has been charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class C felony, and first-degree reckless endangerment, a Class D felony.
He was remanded to the Chemung County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
