Deputy Fire Chief Facing Drug Charges in Horseheads

The Deputy Fire Chief for the Village of Horseheads Fire Department is facing a drug charge after a 10 month investigation. 43-year-old Thomas Margeson is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance. Margeson was the Deputy Fire Chief, and is now suspended. According to Margeson’s bio on the Village of Horseheads Fire Department website, he also serves at the Corning Fire Department as a Lieutenant.

Also according to Margeson’s bio, he has been in the fire service for 24 years, 16 of which he served as the Deputy Chief for the Village of Horseheads Fire Department. Margeson was indicted by a Chemung County Grand Jury.

The charges stem from a 10 month long investigation into the sale of heroin in the Town of Horseheads by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.Margeson is not currently in the Chemung County Jail and is pending further court proceedings.
