Eldridge Park in Elmira has announced that it will not be opening on Thursday due to the heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-90s through Thursday. The real-feel temperature will be over 100 degrees at certain points during the day.
The park announced on its Facebook page that the decision was based on the safety of their staff and customers. Eldridge Park will be open on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.
The Thursday Opening Night festivities will be held on June 27th from 5 to 9 p.m.
The park’s splash pad will still be open from noon to 8 p.m. each day.
