The Elmira Police Department arrested a 33-year-old Elmira man for attempted murder following an incident last week.
According to police, John Havens was charged with attempted murder in the second degree, a Class B felony, after they found a 33-year-old man with stab wounds to his neck on the 400 block of Clinton Street on Thursday.
The victim was taken to the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre for treatment and is listed in critical but stable condition.
The Elmira Police Department was assisted by the Erway Ambulance Service and the Elmira Fire Department.
