A man was arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted one woman and assaulted multiple people in downtown Elmira on Saturday night.
According to Elmira Police, Michael J. Valderrama was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a Class D felony.
Officers were called to the area of the Centertown Parking Garage just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a man assaulting someone.
Police said the suspect, who was later identified as Valderrrama, made his way into a business on West Water Street and sexually assaulted a female victim.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
