A Pennsylvania man was taken into custody after allegedly running through restricted areas at the Elmira Corning Regional Airport and attacking an employee. It happened Sunday morning.
The Chemung County Sheriff’s office says 73-year-old Fred Wilcox, ran through a gate leading to the airport tarmac. Emergency service workers located him two-and-a-half hours later inside the restricted area of the runways. While on airport property, investigators say Wilcox assaulted an airport operations employee. He was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
